Probable Cause: An Alosta Files Crime Short (Antonia #2) – Out Now

Probable Cause is now available on Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.

When Detective Susanna Antonia is pulled back into duty on a late-night homicide, the case looks simple enough: a known banger, a public argument, a gun left in the wrong place. The kind of case departments like to close fast.

But Antonia has learned the hard way that “clean” cases usually aren’t.

Set in South Alosta, Probable Cause is a short police procedural about pressure, shortcuts, and the quiet moments where doing your job collides with doing what feels right. There are no heroes here, no clean victories, and no version of the story where the system doesn’t get what it wants.

This is the second Susanna Antonia story in The Alosta Crime Files, and it stands alone. You don’t need to have read anything else to start here.

Code Two: An Alosta Files Crime Short (Antonia #1) – Out Now

I’ve just released a new crime short story: Code Two, the first Susanna Antonia story in The Alosta Files.

Antonia is a newly transferred detective working South Alosta—the part of the city everyone else avoids. When a batch of bad drugs puts women in the hospital and one of them ends up dead, she does what no one else seems willing to do: she keeps pushing. Even when she’s told to stop. Even when the people involved are untouchable.

This is a hardboiled procedural—tight, fast, and grounded. No speeches. No moralizing. Just consequences.

Code Two is about:

  • Power and who gets protected
  • What “doing the job” actually costs
  • The quiet ways violence persists, even when no one is watching

It’s written to stand alone, but it also opens the door to a larger world. If you’re new to The Alosta Files, this is where to start.

The story is available now on Kindle and free to read with Kindle Unlimited.

A Quiet Kind of Violence — Out Now

A Quiet Kind of Violence is now available on Kindle.

This novella is a hard-boiled crime story set in and around Alosta, a place where people pass through, disappear, and leave damage behind. It follows a man drifting toward violence and a woman who understands it better than he does. There are no heroes here. There are no lessons. Just choices, momentum, and consequences.

The book is lean by design. I cut it down to what mattered and left the rest on the floor. If you’re looking for something fast, brutal, and unflinching—closer to classic pulp than modern prestige crime—this is that book.

This is my first release under the Jack Tyler name and the beginning of a larger body of work. Some of these stories will connect. Some won’t. All of them will live in the same world.

I’m not chasing trends or algorithms. I’m doing what the pulp writers did—writing constantly, publishing often, and letting the work speak for itself.

A Quiet Kind of Violence is available now on Amazon Kindle and for free on Kindle Unlimited.
